Fabregas says Wengar has not spoken to him since Chelsea move

Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas says that Arsene Wenger has not spoken to him since he moved to Arsenal’s archrivals Chelsea in the summer. After deciding to leave Barcelona after just three years at the Camp Nou, Fabregas was a surprise signing by Chelsea for just £ 30 million. Of course, Arsenal had the opportunity to bring him back to the Emirates stadium, but Wenger decided to pass the opportunity due to the presence of many playmakers in the squad. After the signing of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal have many players capable of playing as the number 10 in the squad.

Since his move to Chelsea, Fabregas has been a revelation and has been one of the best players in the Premier League. The 27-year-old midfielder says that he has had a great relationship with Wenger up until now, but that seems to be on the line due to his Chelsea connections. Fabregas says that he was always in touch with Wenger even after leaving Arsenal with the Frenchman congratulating the Spaniard on several occasions when it comes to personal or professional landmarks. Fabregas, though, has said that there has been a huge silence from Wenger since signed for Chelsea.

Chelsea are set to face Arsenal in the next few weeks and it remains to be seen if Wenger will talk to Fabregas. “No, he hasn’t spoken to me since I came back. And it was the kind of relationship I always would have liked to keep. But I’m sure once everything dies down a bit in the future we will talk. There is no problem. I’ll always be grateful to him whatever happens,” said Fabregas. The Spaniard has had a great start to life in West London after contributing six assists and one goal in the six matches he has played.

Mourinho States Fabregas Is Chelsea Future

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho states that Cesc Fabregas is the future of Chelsea and this is something that all of these players understand. Fabregas came to Chelsea a few months ago from Barcelona in a £ 30 million deal. He is widely seen as the replacement for Frank Lampard, who was allowed to leave Chelsea on a free transfer after 13 years at the club. During his time at Chelsea, Lampard became an integral part of the club’s play with almost 15 goals per season. In total, he has scored more than 200 goals for Chelsea and being a midfielder this is regarded as an immense contribution.

Mourinho, though, says that Lampard is part of the Chelsea’s past. Even though he holds a lot of good memories, he says that the future of the club rests on the feet of Fabregas. The 27-year-old Spaniard has already had a lot of influence in the teams play during pre-season. He has contributed several assists and scored a couple of brilliant goals. He is expected to take more time in adjusting to the Premier League after having been experienced with this style of football for eight years at Arsenal.

Fabregas, Jose Mourinho says, provides the control that is required for any team in the centre of midfield. “Frank is the history of the club, history nobody can forget. Fabregas is the future; history is history but the future is more important at the moment. My opinion, and the opinion of my players, is that Fabregas is the right player to occupy that central position in midfield,” said Mourinho. After leaving Chelsea, Lampard joined New York City FC on a two-year contract. However, the 36-year-old has returned to play in the Premier League by agreeing a six-month loan spell at Manchester City. He could face Chelsea on September 21.

Fabregas Moves To Chelsea

Back when Fabregas was a player of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger tried to keep the Spanish midfielder at Arsenal for as long as he could but on August of 2011 there was little that Wenger could do to stop Barcelona from signing Fabregas as the club lured him away from the Emirates Stadium.

From the moment that Fabregas joined Barcelona, he stated that it was a dream coming true for him as he had to chance to perform with his Spanish teammates Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and the rest of the team. His transfer to Camp Nou however has not been as smooth as initially expected as he struggled trying to implant himself into the midfield of the team which led to a number of underwhelming performances.

After all of the trouble and persistence that Barcelona went through trying to sign Fabregas they accomplished it on 2011 but he could only remain at the club for 2 seasons as he is one of the latest players that Chelsea has managed on signing and according to the Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, Fabregas is going to be able on filling the void left by Frank Lampard.

“It’s a big shame losing someone like Frank Lampard who has been an unbelievable player in the Premier League. He’s a world-class player and it’s a huge loss for Chelsea considering how long he has been at the club, but he’s obviously looking for another challenge. That’s what happens at the top end of the league and at clubs like Chelsea. Players of equal quality replace the old ones.” Chelsea’s Mark Schwarzer admitted.

Diego Costa is the other well-known player that Chelsea was able to sign during the summer transfer window and he is expected to link up alongside Cesc Fabregas and form a partnership that will allow the Premier League club on aiming not only for the league title but the Champions League silverware as well.

Fabregas Signs For Chelsea

Cesc Fabregas joined Barcelona in August of 2011 and the Spanish midfielder went on talking during one of his first press conferences as a Barcelona player saying that it was a dream for him to return to his childhood club. It was a substantially long transfer saga as the head chiefs of Barcelona had been attempting to sign Fabregas from Arsenal but their offers were denied as Arsene Wenger did not want to release him but after persistent attempts from Barcelona, they signed their target that arrived to Camp Nou with a price tag of €40 million.

His time at Camp Nou has reached its end as it has been confirmed that Chelsea has completed the signing of the Spanish midfielder.

Fabregas told the club’s official website: “Firstly I would like to thank everyone at FC Barcelona where I enjoyed three wonderful years. It was my childhood club and I will always be proud and honored that I had a chance to play for such a great team. I do feel that I have unfinished business in the Premier League and now is the right time to return’’.

“I considered all the other offers very carefully and I firmly believe that Chelsea is the best choice. They match my footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies. They have an amazing squad of players and an incredible manager. I am fully committed to this team and I can’t wait to start playing.”

Fabregas will have his €100,000 a week wages at Barcelona doubled in Stamford Brdige as he joins the Premier League club on a 5 year contract which concludes all of the rumors that were heavily linking him with a possible move Manchester United and Arsenal.

Martino Believes Fabregas To Be Key

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has stated that he believes that the club can win the title this season since the final match of the season will be in front of their own supporters. The final match of the season for the club will see them take on title rivals Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s team can win the title with even one point from the match. Barcelona, on the other hand, are in need of a win order to retain the title. Barcelona could have lost the title last weekend itself, but they have 0-0 draw with Elche was followed by Atletico’s failure to win against Malaga in front of their home supporters.

Barcelona fans has certainly happy to see their team this position in what has been a very disappointing campaign. They were knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Atletico, who they have failed to beat this season. Ahead of the match, midfielder Andres Iniesta stated that the home support will be very crucial in the match. In the past, home support has worked against them after Barcelona supporters booed thereon player – Cesc Fabregas – for poor performance. Recently, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique stated that it does not help players when their own fans start booing them.

“We are going to need the support of the fans so that the players on the field can feel it and feed off it. It has not been a season in which we have shone a lot, but with the help of the fans we can win the league. It was one of those matches in which you have a strange feeling, especially after Andres’ shot. We began to make mistakes and sometimes lacked the patience needed due to desperation,” said Martino. Barcelona are two points behind Atletico in the table.
