Former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas says that Arsene Wenger has not spoken to him since he moved to Arsenal’s archrivals Chelsea in the summer. After deciding to leave Barcelona after just three years at the Camp Nou, Fabregas was a surprise signing by Chelsea for just £ 30 million. Of course, Arsenal had the opportunity to bring him back to the Emirates stadium, but Wenger decided to pass the opportunity due to the presence of many playmakers in the squad. After the signing of Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal have many players capable of playing as the number 10 in the squad.
Since his move to Chelsea, Fabregas has been a revelation and has been one of the best players in the Premier League. The 27-year-old midfielder says that he has had a great relationship with Wenger up until now, but that seems to be on the line due to his Chelsea connections. Fabregas says that he was always in touch with Wenger even after leaving Arsenal with the Frenchman congratulating the Spaniard on several occasions when it comes to personal or professional landmarks. Fabregas, though, has said that there has been a huge silence from Wenger since signed for Chelsea.
Chelsea are set to face Arsenal in the next few weeks and it remains to be seen if Wenger will talk to Fabregas. “No, he hasn’t spoken to me since I came back. And it was the kind of relationship I always would have liked to keep. But I’m sure once everything dies down a bit in the future we will talk. There is no problem. I’ll always be grateful to him whatever happens,” said Fabregas. The Spaniard has had a great start to life in West London after contributing six assists and one goal in the six matches he has played.
