Cesc Fabregas is that it is now time for Chelsea to think about emulating Barcelona in terms of style of play.
The two teams come up against each other in a friendly match in the United States. This is the last opportunity for Jose Mourinho to test a few aspects of his team before they play in the Community Shield against Arsenal. Barcelona are the reigning holders of the Champions League. A test against the reigning European champions will be very important for Chelsea ahead of the new season. Fabregas spent three years at Barcelona winning numerous titles apart from this trophy.
After only recently adding the Premier League title to his trophy collection for the first time, Fabregas has targeted the Champions League winners’ medal too. Known for playing a beautiful brand of football, Barcelona are now regarded as the best team in the world. It will take some effort from Chelsea in order to overcome the Spaniards despite coming into the game as the Premier League champions. Fabregas has been in fine form in the pre-season friendly games with assist for Victor Moses against PSG being the best of a lot. He will hope to continue the same against Barcelona.
“I always say that the Champions League was the one disappointment from last season. I gave the team a seven or an eight out of 10 for the year, but to complete a top, top season we needed to do better in the Champions League.Unfortunately we went out in the last 16 on away goals, we didn’t actually lose the game. But we do have to play better in the Champions League this season. It is nice to play against [Barcelona]. I spent beautiful years there, some of the most beautiful moments of my career and my life personally as well,” said Fabregas.
